on which note I found a couple of really nice pubs around Hamstead Heath yesterday - The Garden Gate in Belsize Park was roomy, pleasant, with a large beer garden and really nice food. The Old Bull & Bush by the Heath was a touch yuppified but the smells from the kitchen were heavenly.
Veggies are roasting in the oven again - last night I finished up with a really nice cheese / ham / mushroom omelette with french bread & salad.
Today, I woke up at 8-ish, went *urgh*, decided I needed to sleep longer, had a couple of really weird hours of half-sleep, woke up to the alarm at 10 feeling fairly rough and decided to stay in today. After all it'd let me finish de-cluttering the place. Sorted and uploaded some pics, mooched around the meetup site a bit, and then got a text from
some_fox reviving my suggestion from yesterday - so I (with very little reluctance) threw the new inert plan back into the water and headed out to get some lunch before joining various people to see A Scanner Darkly at the Ritzy. Very odd film, but also (I think) very good. The visual effects are extrememly, well, effective, making it into an adult cartoon more than a live-action film. As I don't want to spoiler-cut it, I'll just say that it's really good, and Robert Downey Junior excelled.
Afterwards we all headed back through the gamut of drug-dealers to my flat for tea; first time I've had people drop round like that and a pattern I'd love to repeat, plus it'd give me the final push to chuck out the rest of the clutter.
PS: somebody left a book here...

PPPS: And this one's IMPORTANT -
if you do come visit, please do mind your heads from the front door of the building until you're in the flat, because there are a couple of overhanging cupboards and low ceilings on the way up that are, frankly, bloody vicious.
PPPPS: It appears one of the semi-pros from yesterday has adopted one of my shots as his new userpic. This is very flattering, but telling me would have been appreciated.
