Generally scouring dozens of (both specialised and generic) news feeds (RSS rocks), and fiddling with any tecnologies that these throw up.

Anyone know how:

a) to stop a window created with window.open() from vanishing into the background in FireFrogFox etc?
b) to capture the currently selected text in javascript?
