Just a little radical?

CPR isn't.

Good night at the pub last night - great to see both gothslut and duranorak.

Headed off slightly early from that as I had a course this morning. Got up for that as I would on a workday, checked my mail to find that the server had died, coughed my guts up, headed off to Bow, got screwed up by the Jubilee line, and thus arrived 10 minutes late for the course. Fortunately there were only 2 other people there so they'd waited to start.

The course was the free London Ambulance ELS course, so I'm now vaguely qualified, for one year, to do other people's circulation and breathing for them [*] (since CPR is in fact only temporary maintenance of vital functions, not actual resuscitation) for the short period of time I can sustain it (since it's bloody hard work).

My server's back now - outage was just over three hours. Bytemark admit that that particular vserver-host is not providing adequate performance and are apologetic, and trying to sort it.

Oh and I set up a bugzilla server for my sites (including LJ design) the other day. Not all that tricky, even if the installation instructions are a bit lacking.

* and face it, those are about the only things sysadmins aren't usually expected to do for users.
